Okay - honestly - what the hell is going on? What does it say about our country that General Motors not only thinks it's appropriate but thinks it will sell a LOT of cars to use verbiage in their advertisements that make it sound like they're talking to street thugs???? What the hell?
What kind of rough, tough bullies are we now that this sort of advertising actually works?
How removed are we, as a culture, from intelligent discourse that THIS would make us buy a car?????????
If this is what America has become - and if this is what the armed forces aspire to - then we are all already lost (yes, I know we are - just trying to find some spark of hope - and this ain't it - and I'm giving an extremely generous benefit of the doubt to the mentality of the armed forces in this statement - did I stress 'extremely generous'?? Is there a more politically correct way to make that point?).
No wonder the rest of the world looks at us with such disgust and suspicion - when will it stop?
